ShiftTrace Worker Privacy Notice

What you need to know about how ShiftTrace handles your data.

At ShiftTrace, we believe in transparency. Your employer is using our app to prove that work was completed at specific job sites. Here is a simple, plain-English explanation of exactly what we collect and what we don't.

What is collected?

When you use ShiftTrace, the app collects your name and email address to create your account. During a shift, the app collects timestamps of when you clock in and out, and securely stores any photos you take of the job site.

When is my location checked?

Your GPS location is checked only at the exact moment you tap "Clock In" or "Clock Out." The app checks this single point in time to confirm you are physically at the job site.

What are the photos used for?

The photos you take are attached to your shift log. Your employer uses these to generate professional "Before and After" reports to prove to clients that the job was done correctly.

Who can see the data?

Your location data at clock-in and the photos you upload can only be seen by the owners and managers of your company, and any clients they choose to share the final report with. ShiftTrace keeps this data securely locked within your company's account.

🛑 What we DO NOT do:

  • No Background Tracking: We do not track your location while you are driving between sites, while the app is closed, or when you are off the clock.
  • No Facial Recognition: The app does not scan your face, fingerprints, or any other biometric data.
  • No Spying: The app does not access your microphone, your personal files, or your browsing history.

Your privacy is important to us. Our goal is simply to help you and your employer prove the great work you do every day.
