ShiftTrace Privacy Policy (Beta Draft)

Last Updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ShiftTrace collects, uses, and protects data during our beta testing phase.

1. Account & Company Data

We collect basic information required to create and manage your account, including names, email addresses, company names, and assigned user roles (e.g., owner, manager, worker).

2. Job Site Data

We store the details you provide regarding your job sites, including site names, client names, and site addresses.

3. Clock-In/Out Logs & Location Checks

To provide our proof-of-work service, we collect GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) only at the exact moment a user taps "Clock In" or "Clock Out" at a job site.

  • One-Time Checks: Location is checked strictly to verify proximity to the established job site radius.
  • No Background Tracking: The ShiftTrace app does not track movement between sites, during breaks, or outside of active working hours.

4. Photo Evidence & Reports

We store "Before," "After," and "Issue" photos uploaded by users as part of site visits. These photos, alongside timestamps and location verification data, are compiled into reports for your clients.

5. No Biometrics

We do not collect or process biometric data. There is no facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or voice recording within the ShiftTrace application.

6. Data Security & Third Parties

Data is stored securely using cloud infrastructure (Supabase). We do not sell your data to third parties. Data is only accessible to authorized users within your company account based on role permissions.

7. Data Retention

Data retention policies for evidence photos and logs will be defined following the conclusion of the beta phase, taking into account storage costs and legal requirements.
